1. Survival Skills
In Troop 2273, you’ll learn practical outdoor and survival skills that go far beyond what you learn in school. Scouts master how to set up tents, build campfires safely, cook meals outdoors, use a map and compass, and stay calm in challenging situations. During camping trips and hikes, you’ll practice first aid, knot tying, and teamwork—skills that prepare you for real-life emergencies. You don’t just learn to survive in the wild—you learn to be confident and resourceful anywhere.
2. Social Skills
Scouting is about more than badges; it’s about building friendships and leadership. In Troop 2273, everyone works together to plan activities, lead patrols, and help each other succeed. You’ll meet people from different backgrounds and learn how to communicate, cooperate, and lead with respect. Whether you’re planning a campout or working on a service project, you’ll build strong bonds and develop the confidence to speak up and work as part of a team.
3. Knowledge
Scouts gain knowledge that helps them for life—everything from outdoor science and environmental awareness to citizenship and community service. You’ll explore nature, learn how to protect it, and understand the importance of responsibility and helping others. Each merit badge opens a new world of learning—whether it’s engineering, robotics, or first aid. Every activity teaches something valuable and connects to real-world skills.
